Run Like the Wind 5K Race

The purpose of this event is to raise $25,000 to help the people of Terrier Rouge, Haiti, a refugee site for earthquake victims.

Funds raised will be used to:

• Add a ninth grade to the local school to meet the growing needs of the community
• Purchase a well for a rural community that has been suffering from cholera and water-borne diseases
• Provide food distributions that will feed thousands of Haitians suffering from malnutrition starvation
• Support the ever-growing needs of the Clinique Esperence et Vie as they seek to expand and build a midwifery clinic
• Help eradicate cholera in northern Haiti

7th Annual Bethel United Methodist Golf Tournament

Appleton Campbell, Inc., invites you to join us at the 7th Annual Bethel United Methodist Men’s Golf Tournament on Monday, September 12, 2011 at the Bowling Green Country Club in Front Royal, Virginia.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. sharp; with a 9 a.m. Shotgun Start. Tournament format is Captains Choice, Scramble. Handicaps will be used.

Golf tournament participants will enjoy:

• Pro shop credit
• Chances to win cash prizes
• Refreshments throughout the day
• Full meal at the conclusion of play

Registration fees are $90 per player; $360 per foursome. There is a special gift for each member of the foursome.

Proceeds from the Golf Tournament are used to fund the church’s many volunteer community service projects throughout the Warrenton/Fauquier community.

“This golf tournament is our largest annual fundraiser,” says Tournament Coordinator Kevin Lee. “The money we raise will help our church continue to provide volunteer assistance throughout the year to people in need of help, such as seniors and people who are handicapped or disabled.”

The men and women of the Bethel United Methodist Church provide household help, handyman help, repairs, yardwork assistance, and other kinds of assistance to residents of the Warrenton/Fauquier community.
